The performance was wonderful and the discussion was exceptional. The audience benefited tremendously and loved the show. The actress was believable and talked to the audience as if she was talking one-on-one with each of them. I recommend The Yellow Dress to any program interested in this critical aspect of campus safety.

About the Show
The Yellow Dress is a dramatic one-woman play based on the stories of young women who were victims of dating violence. The carefully constructed program stimulates thought-provoking discussion about relationships; a topic important to every young person’s life. Audiences are clearly moved by the story of a young woman who warmly tells us of her relationship that begins as young love, full of passion and promise — and ends in tragedy.
The Yellow Dress program
includes discussion guides and resource materials to help students and adults:
- Recognize the early warning signs of abuse
- Learn how to help friends/family members who are victims or perpetrators of abuse
- Understand the cycle of abuse
- Access and utilize community resources
Deana's Educational Theater will help you plan a program to suit your specific needs. Our educational theater workshops for peer-leaders and teachers are designed to reinforce the messages of the play and involve your school community in preventing relationship violence.
The program lasts approximately 1 hour for performance and discussion, and includes a performance, post-show discussion, and teaching materials. Additional support available includes teacher trainings, student/peer leadership trainings, and the coordination with other school prevention activities
