Staff

Sher Quaday, M.Ed. is the Executive Director for Deana's Educational Theater (DET). For the past ten years, she has led Deana's Educational Theater in its program development work. Since her arrival, the organization developed Remote Control, Doin' the Right Thing!, All Starz, the college and military versions of The Yellow Dress and Remote Control, the Artist-in-Residence Program; and complementary training programs. Prior to her work with Deana's Educational Theater, Quaday was Director of Violence Prevention Programs at the Harvard School of Public Health. At Harvard, Ms. Quaday was instrumental in the inception, design and management of a national violence prevention training program funded by the US Department of Education and other federal agencies, She was also lead author of Peace by Piece, a Community Guide to Violence Prevention; was co-author of Hidden Casualties: The Relationship between Violence and Learning and other articles and book chapters. Ms. Quaday also served as senior staff assistant for United States Senator Kent Conrad and has been involved in program development and management, evaluation and administration for the past 20+ years. She has a BA in journalism and an M.Ed. in psychology from Cambridge College.

Christine Shaw is the Program Director for Deana's Educational Theater (DET). She joined DET in September 2004. She has degrees from Dean Junior College and the University of Lowell. Prior to her work with DET, she was a social worker for the Department of Social Services and the Truancy Prevention Program Coordinator the Child Assault Unit at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and for Project Alliance.

John Pellegrino is the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for Deana's Educational Theater (DET). Mr. Pellegrino joined DET in February 2008. He is a 1992 graduate of Emerson College and has worked as a print journlalist and public relations professional for more than 15 years. Mr. Pellegrino has helped promote the causes of several nonprofit organiztions during his career.

Judy Bando is the Administrative Coordinator for Deana’s Educational Theater – Judy holds an Interior Design degree from Endicott College and is a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School, Boston.  She brings with her a unique combination of business and creative design skills.  Judy has had several years experience working for IBM as an administrative assistant in the Marketing department.  Most recently Judy was employed by an architectural firm which specialized in the design of high-end custom homes.  Judy joined Deana’s Educational Theater in February 2008.

Susan Becker is a training and artistic consultant. She holds a degree in theater from Dickinson College and studied with instructors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the London Drama Center. She worked for many years as an actress and producer in New York. Her corporate experience includes both designing and conducting training programs. Ms. Becker has served on many boards and committees as a major proponent of social justice issues.
